We love work study!

  • Student employees must apply for work study each semester, however you do not need to qualify for work study to be a Tutor or SI Leader.
  • Receptionists must apply for work study and must have a work study award for the semester.

How do I apply for work study?

  • You must have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the current semester; visit http://www.fafsa.ed.gov to apply online.
  • Request a work study award by checking "yes" in the appropriate box on your FAFSA.
  • Contact the "Apply to" person named in the Job Request and arrange an interview.
  • Take a copy of the Job Request with you to the interview.
  • Return signed workstudy referral to the student employment office with proper I9 documentation.
  • Visit the UNM Student Employment Office for more information.
