Smarthinking™ Online Tutoring

What is Smarthinking™?

Smarthinking™ is a Washington, D.C. based organization that provides online tutoring and academic support for university students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in various common courses.

Smarthinking™ currently offers qualified and trained e-structors/tutors providing support in the following areas and skills: Biology, Physics, Mathematics (Basic Math -> Calculus II), Writing (for all courses) through the Online Writing Lab, Statistics, Accounting, Economics (Macro & Micro), Real-Time Grammar Help, Pre-writing Brainstorming, Spanish, and Chemistry, with support for other courses added regularly.

Help! I'm locked out of my Smarthinking™ account!


What are the requirements for Smarthinking™?

You must be a UNM student currently enrolled in classes. In addition, you must have a UNM NetID. If you do not have a UNM NetID, create one now.

System Requirements: Windows PC with 16MB or more memory, Mac OS with 32MB or more memory. Windows PC users need Firefox 1.0.4 or higher, Internet Explorer 5.1 or higher, or Netscape 6 or higher. Mac OS users need Firefox 1.0.4 or higher, Internet Explorer 5.1 or higher, or Safari 1.3 or higher. Netscape browsers on the Apple Mac OS platform are not supported with the Smarthinking™ application.

How do I start using Smarthinking™?

You will be required to authenticate using your UNM NetID. If it's your first time logging into Smarthinking™, we will prompt you for your Name, Email Address, and Student ID number. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your Smarthinking™ account.
