Entering Your Data on the TI-83
Note: The data will be stored into lists that are named L1, L2, L3 .... L6. If you look at the numbers 1-6 on the calculator you will see L1 above the 1 key, L2 above the 2 key, and so on. To access a certain list - L1 for example - press the 2nd key, then the 1 key.- Press the STAT key, then the 1 key (or press ENTER since the option "Edit" is already highlighted).
- To clear data from a list, use the Up Arrow key to highlight the name of the list, press CLEAR, then ENTER. You can also clear a list by pressing the STAT key, then the 4 key, then type in the name of the list and press ENTER.
- Enter the first value in your data set, then press ENTER. Continue the process until all the data has been entered.
Sorting Your Data on the TI-83
- Press the STAT key, then the 2 key, then type in the name of the list (e.g., to type in L1 press 2nd followed by 1).
- To sort the data in descending order, press the 3 key instead of the 2 key described in step 1.
